The journey to developing a vocational training and community center continues for us as important foundational pieces are developed and put in place. With a lot of prayer and patience we are making progress.
So far, we have been able to complete the borehole system along with getting a temporary generator for pumping the water up to the tower tanks.
Now, our focus is on trying to acquire two more acres of land and finalizing the detailed plans and costing for the first section of the mechanical center.
Another critical aspect of our Phase 1 development plan is our child sponsorships, food program, and staff salaries.
Caring for 24 children and the families who care for them is costly, and we need to secure sponsorship for each one. We encourage you to prayerfully consider sponsoring a child for $30 a month.
As you can imagine there is a lot that goes into caring for our community. The need is great, especially as the negative economic effects of covid regulations continue to make livelihoods difficult.
It takes staff and food for us to meet needs in a meaningful way and we need your support to make all of this possible. Here is a picture of our staff and elders helping lead our ministry to the community. Our current monthly budget for staff and food support is $1,500.
There is still much to be done but we thank God for how far he has brought us so far and we believe with all of our hearts that our plans will succeed as God continues to direct our path to impact the lives of so many people of our Kakamega community. Pray for us and help us as the Lord directs you.
